Market Research - Focus Group Interpreters

Does your market research depend on a clear understanding of what focus group respondents are saying in a foreign language?  Does your ethnographic research require an in-depth interview in a different language? Regardless of the language required to conduct your research, you can trust InterpreNet to provide only the best and most qualified language interpreters nationwide. Our growing network of professional language interpreters with market research experience is expanding not only throughout the United States but also abroad.

Headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, we specialize in recruiting interpreters with superior bilingual skills and a broad knowledge of the subject matter. Those interpreters chosen for ethnography or focus group interpretation possess excellent simultaneous and consecutive interpretation skills. They interpret accurately, ensuring that the interpretation flows smoothly and that your client can successfully comprehend everything that is said by the respondents.

We interpret accurately, ensuring that the interpretation flows smoothly and that your client can successfully comprehend everything that is said by the respondents.

Who Orders our Language Services?

We are contracted by manufacturers or market research companies that provide cultural insights about consumer brands or products.  We also work with focus group facilities as their resident foreign language experts.

Confidentiality is our second nature

At InterpreNet, we are particularly sensitive to the confidential nature of the market research that is being conducted. Our interpreters are courteous and very discrete, limiting themselves to providing interpretation services. They know not to engage clients, moderators and respondents beyond the scope of the interpretation process.  We can also provide confidentiality agreements upon request, if necessary.

Preparation makes the difference

Even the best interpreters cannot be expected to arrive at a job location and interpret accurately without adequate preparation. In order to ensure that our interpreters can do an outstanding job, it is critical that you provide us with detailed information about the topic of discussion. For example, for a focus group session, it is very helpful for the interpreter to review the moderator’s question guide ahead of time.

It is impossible to overestimate the importance of obtaining the pertinent information ahead of an interpretation project. It is the difference between success and failure. We also recommend that your book your interpreter at least an hour before a particular session is scheduled to start, so that you can prepare the interpreter thoroughly.

Having the adequate equipment

Whenever simultaneous interpretation is required, particularly during a focus group session, make sure that the necessary simultaneous interpretation equipment is made available. Focus group facilities often have equipment available, namely audio headsets and receivers for their clients in the observation or viewing room, and transmitter and headphones for the interpreter. Ideally, the interpreter should be isolated from everyone else so that he or she can work effectively without any background noise other than the audio feed coming in to his or her headphones from the conference room where the focus group is being conducted.

If the focus group facility does not have the necessary equipment, we can provide a package to meet the technological needs of your event. Either we can supply the necessary equipment or we can refer you to reputable audio visual equipment companies with whom we have established working relationships.
